Marthe Perl

Gambist

»Like mother like daughter«, as the saying rightly goes about Marthe Perl, who takes her extraordinary talent for the viola da gamba after her mother Hille Perl. Firmly convinced that she would not pursue a career in music, the young Marthe initially took sporadic singing and piano lessons before the baroque stringed instrument cast its spell over her at age 15. She later studied viola da gamba at the Hochschule für Künste in Bremen with her mother and is now making a name for herself in the music world with her genre-bending repertoire. In addition to numerous concerts with renowned choirs and orchestras and performances as a mother-daughter duo, she can also be heard with the ensemble groups »Trio de la Nuit« and »La Ninfea«. With these, she not only dedicates herself to early music but also combines it with new music and pop to inspire all generations for the viola da gamba.
