»Monster«

PLEASE NOTE: THE AUDIO IS ONLY AVAILABLE IN GERMAN.

What is normal? What is not, and what do we need it for? With two composers (Enno Poppe and Ondřej Adámek), a narcissistic audience (Mara Genschel) and a philosopher (Alice Lagaay), we use new music to trace the monstrous, the insane and the strange.

A conversation about bumps in music, cyborg instruments, loss of control, instrumentalist bodies and the creative power of disorder.

»Des Pudels Kern« is a new series of conversations around classical music, pop, philosophy, art and science. We suck the fat off, listen back and into the future. What does Mozart’s Figaro tell us about abuse of power, what links martial arts and archery, and what do we learn from romance for living in climate disaster? The Poodle offers listeners direct access to music and what it has to say: about the beauty of the world and the crises of our time.

A production by Elisa Erkelenz and David-Maria Gramse in cooperation with Kölner Philharmonie, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Heidelberger Frühling, Mozartfest Würzburg, Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele, Bochumer Symphoniker im Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr and WDR 3.
