BERTOLT BRECHT »Hauspostille« with Music by KURT WEILL and others

Lars Eidinger Reading

Hans-Jörn Brandenburg Harmonium

At the latest, since his role as Salzburg’s »Jedermann,« actor Lars Eidinger has also become a household name for classical audiences. Theatre lovers, however, have known him longer. »Tatort« fans or film buffs, in general, may already be wondering when this list will finally end. In short: If Lars Eidinger is not cult by now, Bertolt Brecht certainly is. »Don’t be deceived! Life little is. Slurp it up in quick draughts! It will not be enough for you if you have to leave it.« So says the »Hauspostille,« a collection of poems that the playwright, poet and lyricist began as an 18-year-old and would sort through for the rest of his life. Unabashedly, his poetry is devoted to the eerie beauty of the morbid, which Lars Eidinger and Hans-Jörn Brandenburg bring to life.

The concert will be recorded by SWR Rundfunk and broadcast on Monday, June 19, at 8:05 p.m. in the SWR2 Evening Concert.
