Harry Ogg

Conductor

In the 2022/23 season, the British conductor Harry Ogg will take over the position of Kapellmeister at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and conduct »Die Tote Stadt«, »Tosca«, »Don Giovanni« and »Die Zauberflöte«, among others. After debuting at the Ludwigsburg Festival, further debuts follow with the Munich Philharmonic, the Hamburg Symphony, at the Elbphilharmonie, Les Siècles and the Bergen Philharmonic. Ogg also returns to the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra, the SWR Symphony Orchestra and the Dresden Philharmonic. Other notable performances include Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra and Orchestre Symphonique de Mulhouse. Together with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and Leif Ove Andsnes, Ogg recorded Benjamin Britten's »World War Two Radio Plays« with the Hallé Orchestra. In the 2019/20 season, Harry was Associate Conductor at Welsh National Opera (WNO), where he conducted a production of »Carmen« and assisted Tomáš Hanus with Prokofiev's »War and Peace« at the Royal Opera House. Harry studied orchestral conducting with Professor Nicolás Pasquet and Professor Ekhart Wycik at the Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar and completed music studies at Clare College, Cambridge.
