Kacper Szelążek

Countertenor

Countertenor Kacper Szelążek graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in 2016. Three years earlier, he made his debut in the role of Nerone in Claudio Monteverdi's »The Coronation of Poppea« and presented his native Poland at the European Broadcasting Union's New Talent Forum in the same year. Since 2013 he has performed at theatres and concert halls in Warsaw, Verona, Lisbon, and Moscow, among others. In 2016 he won the Carlo Maria Giulini Prize at the International Stanisław Moniuszko Vocal Competition. Recent performances have taken Szelążek to Boston, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Geneve, Paris, Dijon, Nany, Drottningholm and elsewhere, and have included collaborations with conductors such as Leonardo García Alarcón, Paul Esswood, Christina Pluhar, and Christophe Rousset.
