Ensemble

The orchestra l'arte del mondo dedicates itself to early music on historical instruments and to the repertoire up to contemporary music. Under the artistic direction of Werner Ehrhardt, the ensemble regularly works with international soloists and companies on innovative programmes and intercultural projects. These include a choreographed production of the »St Matthew Passion« with the Israeli Kamea Dance Company and collaborations with soloists such as Daniel Müller-Schott and Dorothee Oberlinger. Among the 30 or so the award-winning recordings by l’arte del mondo are Antonio Salieri’s »La Fiera di Venezia« (Sony/dhm 2019), the oboe concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach with Céline Monet (Berlin Classics 2019), the world premiere recording of the opera »Scherz, List und Rache« by Philipp Christoph Kayser after a libretto by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (Sony/dhm 2020) and a joint album with violist Nils Mönkemeyer (Sony Classical 2021).
