As a member of the girls' choir at Cologne Cathedral, Anna Lucia Richter received singing lessons at the age of nine. Subsequently trained as a soprano at the Musikhochschule Köln, Richter decided to switch to mezzo-soprano in 2020. In the Lied field, she has appeared with an extensive repertoire at all the major Lied centres, including the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, the Heidelberger Frühling, and the Wigmore Hall London. She has also performed at the BBC Proms in London, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival or the Rheingau Music Festival. The project »Light!«, developed together with pianist Ammiel Bushakevitz, is a focal point of the current season. She also debuts with the Vienna Philharmonic in the alto part of Bach's »St. Matthew Passion«. Other concert and opera performances this season will take Anna Lucia Richter to Leipzig, Valencia, London and Tokyo, among others. Her latest CD with songs by Johannes Brahms was released in September 2022.
