Valerio Contaldo

Tenor

Valerio Contaldo first studied classical guitar in Sion and Paris before opting for vocal training at the Lausanne Conservatoire. There, he began his career as a tenor. His repertoire includes sacred music from Monteverdi to Frank Martin, including Bach, Mozart, Haydn, and Rossini. Contaldo gives guest performances at opera houses in France, Switzerland, and Germany and also appears at festivals in Italy, Austria, Canada, and elsewhere, including the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence in the coming two seasons. In addition to »Il diluvio universale«, he is also involved in several Monteverdi projects with the Cappella Mediterranea, including the title role in »L’Orfeo« which can be heard in a highly acclaimed recording by Alpha/Outhere.
