The British octet VOCES8 is internationally celebrated for its particular field of a cappella. This unique form of vocal music describes singing without instrumental accompaniment in today's sense and enjoys wide-open repertoire doors, from polyphonic Renaissance music to pop pieces and contemporary compositions. VOCES8 will present a cross-section of this diverse art form in its artist residency at the Schlossfestspiele and, as a prelude to this, will meet their a cappella colleague Chanticleer from the USA for the first time. Sometimes, as soloists, sometimes together, the two outstanding ensembles will provide goosebump moments across the epochs at this summit meeting.
