In a romantic, melancholy and stirring way, Franz Schubert's song cycle takes its course. This highlight of this Romantic art song meets paintings by the sought-after contemporary artist Norbert Bisky in the jewel of the baroque Ludwigsburg Palace Theatre. With his artwork, Bisky transports the inner life of the young miller, brought to life musically by tenor Mingjie Lei and pianist Alan Hamilton, into a contemporary context.
